We now have an IT support system that exceeds all our expectations. Everyone at CE Services has given us a first class service and we feel confident in all that they do. They are always ready to help no matter how trivial a problem may be.
CE Services has reduced Cheshire based charity "The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace" reduce its IT Support costs by providing a single source IT support solution at a cost lower than was achievable in house or using the existing IT Support solution.
The Foundation for Peace was using Charity share as a managed IT Support service for their servers and users to cut costs throughout the business; they identified IT as an area where outsourcing to a firm of specialists may result in cost savings.
As a result following a detailed cost analysis and interviewing a shortlist of providers, the Foundation decided that CE Services provided the best all round solution to meet their needs.
CE Services initially installed a new server, IT Infrastructure and upgraded all the current software. They now provide a full IT support package including providing regular reviews and advice on hardware and further software upgrades to keep the IT function operating at the optimum efficiency.
CE Services' support did not stop with the reduction in IT costs and supply of a professional support service. In October 2009 CE Services took part in the first Warrington Half Marathon to raise money for the Foundation. The race started from Victoria Park in Warrington at 9am on Sunday 3rd October before heading out to the communities to the south of Warrington prior to returning back to Victoria Park for the finish. CE Services look forward to competing in the event again this year.
Lynn Hitchen, Operations Manager for the Foundation stated "We now have an IT support system that exceeds all our expectations. Everyone at CE Services has given us a first class service and we feel confident in all that they do. They are always ready to help no matter how trivial a problem may be."
The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace is a British based charity created by the parents of 12 year old Tim Parry and supported by the parents of 3 year old Johnathan Ball. Both Tim and Johnathan were tragically killed as a direct result of the IRA's 1993 bombing of Warrington. The Foundation receives support from many political figures and their Patrons include the Duchess of Kent and Sir John Major KGCH. The Foundation is dedicated to providing conflict resolution programmes and activities that benefit children, young people, adults, schools and communities everywhere.
At the core of their work is the belief that only through inclusive dialogue can workable strategies to avoid, manage, or resolve conflicts be established.
I am very grateful for the excellent response we received [from CE Services] particularly at 8.45 on one Sunday morning, although this level of service is what we have come to expect during our longstanding relationship with CE Services.
Parker are the premier, British, family owned horticultural mail order specialist. Established in 1933 they are bulb and plant specialists. CE Services have now been working with J Parker Ltd for over 15 years and have been involved in many critical IT emergency projects over the years some very recently and some going back a full 15 years including one February nearly a decade ago when a mailer to over 1,000,000 potential customers was sent out. Everything was in place to receive over 3000 telephone enquires and orders on the Monday morning.
Unfortunately the company's AS400 computer system, which is used to enter and process all orders, failed on the Sunday morning. This would have been a disaster, the time spent hand-writing orders would mean that many enquiries couldn't be taken and business would be lost at a critical time of year.
Parkers have been a long-standing customer of CE Services and as such called out our on-call engineer, realising the importance of the situation to the customer, he made his way to Parkers. After diagnosing the problem to be a failed power supply, the engineer made arrangements to get a replacement unit.
The replacement part was collected, installed in the AS/400, tested and the engineer had the system back up and running by Sunday evening, ready for the orders on the Monday morning.
Chris Snow of Parkers said "I am very grateful for the excellent response we received particularly at 8.45 on a Sunday morning, although this level of service is what we have come to expect during our longstanding relationship with CE Services".
More recently, and just as crucial to the success of the business, they had a requirement to upgrade to the latest MS Exchange server as they had out grown their existing hardware. CE Services specified a new HP Server with redundant disks and power supplies to ensure minimum downtime. The server was loaded up with MS Server 2008 and the latest version of MS Exchange server. The server was installed and mailboxes migrated from the existing server with minimum disruption to the business.
CE Services has helped Cheshire based Texkimp introduce new IT working systems to deal with the thriving company’s growth over recent years. As Texkimp experienced strong business growth, IT and the problems associated with keeping up to date with IT became more of an issue and started to impact on the effective running of the business and the business freedom required by the directors.
Like many growing businesses, the responsibility of IT fell on the shoulders of an internal individual, in this case the office manager Colin Cliff, but like so many other companies in the same situation, the responsibility of the office manager was moving more towards management, customer services and sales, and IT became more of a side issue and problem.
Northwich based Texkimp are specialists in designing and manufacturing equipment for the unwinding, guiding & tensioning of every kind of yarn, fibre, tow, tape monofilament & multi-filament. Texkimp was founded in 1974 and is currently the only independent specialist creel designer and manufacturer in the world. Family owned and controlled, the company concentrates solely on the production of creels and related accessories for the handling, unwinding, tensioning and guiding of all types of yarns, tapes and fibres from package to process.
In 2007 Texkimp was reversed into Cygnet Group Limited and forms a key part of an expanding specialist engineering group with expertise in designing, developing, manufacturing and selling engineered products into niche global markets.
Again, like so many growing and successful businesses, Texkimp realised a change in strategy was required and the company decided to outsource its IT support and chose Warrington based CE Services as the ideal solution and IT Business Partner. Following careful analysis, CE Services proposed a complete IT Support service including server management, desktop helpdesk, and support for remote users which enabled the directors to work more efficiently when on business in the Far East.
Since CE Services was first contracted to assist with the IT support, the IT network has more than doubled and the company has relocated to new bigger office premises. A move supported by the professional services of CE Services.
CE Services has helped the North West based Ford dealership company M53 Ford to consolidate its IT systems and streamline the operations that were spread across two locations at Rossmore Road East, Ellesmere Port in Cheshire and Green Lane, Birkenhead in Merseyside. M53 Ford had encountered IT difficulties for some time due to different elements of its IT support being provided from different sources, a problem made worse by the duel location of the business.
The IT function was being managed by company accountant Carole Marsden, a busy internal resource with more pressing priorities and again, like so many growing and successful businesses, M53 Ford realised a change in IT strategy was required and the company decided to outsource its IT support and chose Warrington based CE Services as the ideal solution and IT Business Partner.
Established in 1987, M53 Ford has built a reputation over the years for providing high quality new and used vehicles at affordable prices, coupled with excellent customer care. In addition, its efforts have been recognised by Ford Motor Company in the awarding of the ‘Chairman’s Award for Excellence’ for providing outstanding customer satisfaction and is a past winner of what was the much coveted ‘Sales Executives Confederation’ for outstanding sales performance. Co founder and current Chairman & Managing Director, Tom McPhail is extremely proud of his Company’s achievements.
CE Services initially identified all the various elements of IT support being provided, and proposed a complete IT Support service designed to provide a formal support package and improve network and server reliability.
CE Services installed a new server, consolidated a number of WAN connections into a new firewall VPN solution to improve the network reliability issues and now provide a complete service for any desktop or server problems. Since the contract was taken out, M53 Ford has relocated its Birkenhead showroom to Green Lane and CE Services were responsible for migrating the users and setting up new WAN VPN connections back to head office.
Having gone through a major restructuring and cost cutting exercise during the summer of 2009, Martin Dawes not only decided to continue their long standing working relationship with CE Services but elected to outsource their entire IT support requirements to them.
Martin Dawes and CE Services have been working together for nearly 10 years and as a result of this major review of IT support requirements, CE Services are now responsible for providing support for all the company’s servers and IT users. They also provide internet services, managed email security and provide a proactive advice service on future IT strategies.
Martin Dawes has been associated with the home entertainment market since the early 70's. They have thousands of renters who either shop directly or rent via one of their shops, and provide top-name brands such as Panasonic, Bose, Sony, Philips and many more. Martin Dawes saw the launch of colour television in the UK as a great opportunity to develop a TV rental business based on top end service. He opened his first store in Stockport, securing production lines of the earliest colour televisions for his rental business with Bush and HMV, top names at the time.
The business grew at a fantastic rate, with further shops in Warrington and Chester being opened. They now have stores across the North West and Midlands and a large direct rental base which continues to offer top end service to all of its customers.
This is now one of the most all encompassing IT support services provided by CE Services and shows how far the company has travelled in being regarded as the leading IT support company in the region.
